Frequently asked questions

FAQ

Why should I consider Bifold Doors?

Kerb Appeal, Beautiful and Safe

Bifold doors enable you to make that beautiful connection from inside to out, thanks to their fully opening design. Unlike sliding or French doors, when fully open, you can enjoy completely unobstructed views of your garden and naturally extend your living space. Generally, bifold doors work best when the outside area is the same level, in order for this space to feel as though it’s part of the house.

Are Bifold Doors Secure and Safe?

Our doors are very secure!

As a major access point to your home, it’s natural to be concerned regarding security, but there’s no need to panic as all of our bifold doors are highly secure! The master door has a multi-point locking mechanism with hook bolts, intermediate doors have bolts to top and bottom.

How many bifold door panels will I need?

At Belfast Bifolds & Aluminium Systems, all of our bifold doors are made-to-measure and the number of panels required will be based on your dimensions. Fewer panels will result in a clearer view and allow for more natural light to flood through, and of course, we recommend a single access door for ease.

I am worried about losing heat and energy efficiency

No need to worry at all!

All of our bifold doors offer high performance and market-leading energy efficiency! Boasting low U-values, you can enjoy a reduced carbon footprint and save on your heating bills.

I am unsure about sliding doors or bifold doors

We can help you find the solution best for your needs

A question our customers are often faced with is: sliding or bifold doors? Whilst both options provide various different benefits, it really depends on what it is you want to achieve. If you’re seeking a door that opens up to full-width, blurring the boundaries, then bifold doors are ideal.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Could not get anyone to deal with a broken lift drive issue on my lift and slide door.
Was put in contact with Belfast Bifolds, who were efficient and effective in resolving the problem.

Thanks again

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thanks to the team who responded to a call for help to fix our aluminium bi folded doors which was supplied and fitted by another company 5 years ago 'badly', twisted frame and poorly installed. Unfortunately the company that installed them went bust and left us in a position to not be able to claim on warranty. We are grateful that Darren and his colleague called out and fixed our door and made best out of it. Only wish these guys were trading 5 years ago when we were looking for windows and doors. I look forward to working with these guys again in future for another project.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We decided to have Belfast Bifolds supply our aluminium sliding door/window unit because we liked the set-up of a local business which manufactured and fitted the units. They also had the shortest lead time, and their good on-line reviews were reassuring. We were able to see one of their lift-and-slide doors at their premises in the Valley Business Centre in Newtownabbey before we committed. The directors are all hands-on in the process of providing quotations, measuring up, manufacturing and fitting. The fitting itself was impressively professional, and communication throughout the process from initial site visit to the installation was excellent (e-mail, phone and text).
We can gladly add to the positive reviews and have no hesitation in recommending Belfast Bifolds.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The guys at Belfast Bifold were very easy to work with after we had an issue with a garden room door (not originally fitted by them).

One phone call later, Darren had triaged remotely and an appointment was booked to have the door fixed. They arrived when agreed and quickly resolved the issue when others had previously not wanted to touch ‘someone else's work’.

Delighted to have had the doors repaired, and it seems working correctly for the first time!

Thanks guys. Would recommend.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Two guys from Belfast Bifolds came today and repaired the bifold doors in my sunroom (only installed 2 years ago). I have had a problem with the doors since mid August and had experienced a complete lack of interest from tradespeople, to even call out to my home to assess for repairs. Darren and his co-worker were the first to honour their commitment to come out when they said they would and then to effect the repairs. Both were friendly; knew what they were doing; got straight to work; and my doors were fully operational within the hour. I'm a very happy and relieved customer and the cost was reasonable too. If you are looking for this type of work I would recommend based on my experience today.
